We like looking pretty and as perfect as we can be. That's why we spend minutes and even hours putting on make-up. And among the parts that we always want to look perfect are our eyebrows. We want them lush but tamed at the same time.
We use a range of products to achieve a defined look for our brows. There are eyebrow pencils, brow growth gels, and there are tweezers.
Now, there are some misconceptions about plucking your brows. Some say it is bad and you should not do it. But actually, plucking is a safe way to get your brows to perfect shape. However, if plucking is overdone, you might damage your eyebrows. The trauma you caused your hair may not make them grow back - at least for a long time.
But, some things you are doing may stunt their growth. It would be best to know about what activities can cause this and avoid doing them again. Likewise, it is imperative for you to learn how to behave to speed up your brow hair's growth.
Let us inform you of the dos and don'ts when trying to grow your overplucked eyebrows. Here are some tips that will help:
Give Your Brows Some Time To Grow
If you want to grow your brows, stay away from magnifying mirrors. Do not check them all the time and obsess over every strand of hair. You would just be tempted to do some plucking to shape your brows. That would not help.
What you need to do is give them the time and space they need to grow. That's about two to three months. Now, we aren't saying that you should not groom your brows during that period. Just don't spend too much time looking at them.
Pluck Your Brows The Right Way
The best time to pluck your eyebrows is after you take a shower. It is when your skin is soft and more delicate. The steam from the shower opens up your pores and softens the hair follicle. As a result, the hair would come out with minimal effort. Thus, there is less chance of you damaging them. If you do it the opposite way, the steam may irritate your hair follicles. That will not only give you swollen brows, but it can also affect your brows' growth.
The tweezers you use can also affect the results. Avoid tweezers with wide, flat ends like they're a carrier of a deadly virus. They aren't efficient. Tweezers with rubber grips on the end must receive the same treatment. Dermatologist Shilpi Khetarpal, MD., says that the rubber creates more friction. That causes more trauma to the hair when you pull it out. And this should be obvious by now, but that will down the growth of your brows.
What you should look for is a rubber-less tweezer with an angled end. It will let you pull the hair out in the direction of its growth. Therefore, it will not cause damage.
Eat A Well-Balanced Diet
When has this advice been a bad thing? It is always recommended, especially when you are trying to improve your body. Of course, it also applies when you are trying to grow your eyebrows.
Among the minerals and vitamins that you should be looking for are iron and biotin. Dr. Khetarpal promotes taking between 3 - 5 milligrams of biotin each day. Admittedly, that is a large dose. But that isn't much of a problem since biotin is a water-soluble vitamin. What that means is your body will take the amount it needs and then dispose of the excess through urine.
Use Eyebrow Growth Serums
Eyebrow growth serums use ingredients that aid in speeding up the growth of brows. Aside from that, they also typically condition and nourish the brows you have now. They are excellent tested and proven products.
Try using Bondi Lash Lab's Brow & Lash Growth Serum. It is the most powerful and natural serum on the market. Furthermore, it does not contain harmful substances such as prostaglandin, sulfate, and paraben.
Keep all of these tips in mind, and you'll see your brow slowly become lush again.
